[ad_1] The USB-C UD-CA1A plug-in docking station provides an additional display output (via the DisplayPort alternative mode), up to 60 watts of Power Delivery (PD) to charge the host computer via USB-C (the host computer must support PD over USB-C), Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, audio, and expanded USB device. All through a single USB-C cable.
Performance
The UD-CA1A docking station uses alternative mode display technology that uses a direct "pipeline" to the system's graphics processor and the connected monitor will operate and run as a natively connected display. Video in alternative mode (native DisplayPort signal) is converted to HDMI 1.4 to accommodate widely available HDMI monitors.
Compatible Systems
Plug and Play installation on any Windows, Mac, or Linux host that supports the DisplayPort alternative mode (Alt mode) Video output capability. Current examples are the MacBook 2017 and 2016 and MacBook Pro and Dell XPS 13 "Dell XPS 15" will work but will display a warning to start if a 130W battery charger is not detected.
Incompatible systems
current Android phone or tablet with USB-C support Video output in alternative mode. ASMedia USB 3.1 controllers do not support alternative mode video at this time. Also, it is not compatible with Lenovo Yoga 900
Power and Charge
The UD-CA1A power supply can charge hosts with up to 60 watts of power via the USB Power Delivery standard. As mentioned earlier, some devices that support video output on USB-C are not recharged via USB-C. For these systems, the charger from the system manufacturer will be required.
